Since 1986 the BVCF performs succesfully the european Breeding

and the managment of the BVCF which is responsible for carrying
out the organization of the Action Plan and, together with the
FCBV and LPO is contributing its expertise. The BVCF is supporting
conservationist NGOs, training government personnel, following

EGVWG
(East European/Mediterranean Griffon Vulture Working Group)
In 2000 the EGVWG was established in order to prevent the
final extinction of the Griffons in Central and East Europe.
The former small and select circle of specialists has now
developed into a Europe-wide network of Griffon vulture experts.
The EGVWG collects data on the existing populations and the
respective threats to these in Europe. This pooled data provides
a central database for the international conservation efforts
in this species. Even though little is known about the flight
movements of the Griffon vultures, sightings of ringed birds
have proven an existing interchange between Croatia, Italy
and Austria.
