    “Following the Vultures 2” - film from Bulgaria 2006

    1. Goal of the Project
    To make four episodes of a film as a sequel to Following The Vultures, demonstrating the areas of activity of all four Bulgarian environmental organizations.

    2. Objectives
    Objective 1: To make the second episode of the film Following the Vultures dedicated to the idea of the Balkan Vulture Action Plan (BVAP)
    Objective 2: To make four tourist-orientated films about the areas of activity of all four Bulgarian environmental organizations working on projects concerning BVAP (short introductions about their activities). The episodes about the activities of the environmental organizations will be taken from the rough material for the films Following the Vultures 1 and 2
    Objective 3: To make presentational video-material that will be used by the Bulgarian environmental organizations to popularize their activities; those are copies of some episodes or integral products from points 1 and 2 that will be prepared in a form to fit the requirements of the media

    1. Goal of the Project
    To recover the populations of the Large Vultures to healthy levels and preserve the Eastern Rhodopes as a safe vulture habitat on the Balkans
    2. Objectives
    Objective 1: To prevent future cases of poisoning of sarcophagus birds and mitigate the underlying causes for the use of poisons
    Objective 2: To guarantee sufficient food availability for the existing vultures in theEastern Rhodopes
    Objective 3: To provide regular up-to-date comprehensive information on the vulture populations in the Eastern Rhodopes in order to plan and enforce adequateconservation measures

    Urgent Conservation Measures for the Egyptian Vulture Neophron percnopterus in Bulgaria

    1. Goal of the Project
    To stop the decrease of the Bulgarian breeding population of the Egyptian Vulture and to create a basis for long-term nation-wide conservation work for the species, allowing for a successful population recovery.
    2. Objectives 
    Objective 1: To undertake statutory and practical conservation measures for the species nationwide, through a National Species Action Plan (NSAP), as well as through the Management plans of the Nature Parks with breeding Egyptian Vultures.
    Objective 2: To provide the necessary monitoring tools for the Egyptian Vulture to allow comprehensive and adequate planning of the species’ oriented conservation activities.
    Objective 3: To maintain and develop the capacity and the partnerships of conservation teams at areas with breeding sites of Egyptian Vultures.
    Objective 4: To reduce the effect of the known threatening factors at a majority of breeding sites according to the known specifics of them.
